Tourette’s Syndrome (neurological tic)/OCD
OCD and Tourette's usually come from a hyper-firing Dorso-Lateral Gyrus of the Pre-Frontal Lobe
The Dorso-Lateral Gyrus helps us decide what is relevant; it helps us keep things in perspective, helps us sequence, categorize, attenuate and sort. A HYPER-firing Dorso-Lateral Gyrus (usually from a lack of inhibition from the Basal Ganglia) leaves the person perseverating, with tics, and/or with Obcessive Compulsive Disorder.
NOTE: If UNDER firing, the patient experiences emotional and relational upset with thought processes that 'take things out of context'.
If the Right Dorso-Lateral Gyrus is in a state of hypo-firing, the patient struggles with emotionally charged relationship problems from communication issues that are taken out of context. It's the "I'm so mad at my husband, do you know what they said the other day..." while the husband has no idea whatsoever for the reason of his wife's upset and meant no ill in any comment. Emotionally charged communication that is taken out of context often - think Dorso-lateral gyrus, pre-frontal lobe.
TREATMENT:
Brain-Based Therapy - Firing specifically into the lobe that is HYPO firing with FUEL and ACTIVATION to re-connect the brain.
Nutritional Support Protocol
1. Follow a ketogenic diet. In addition, restrict gluten and casein from the diet.
2. Emphasize omega 3 fatty acids (salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines) and omega 9 fats (olive oil,
olives, almonds, hazelnuts, avocados, macadamia oil and coconut oil).
3. Choose lean, clean quality protein at each meal such as chicken breast, turkey breast, lean beef, fish (especially salmon and sardines), eggs and whey protein.
4. Limit or avoid trans fatty acids (hydrogenated vegetable oil, margarine and shortening). Cook
with olive oil at low heat.
5. Drink at least 64 ounces of filtered, bottled or non-chlorinated water every day. In addition, drink
2-3 cups of naturally decaffeinated green tea daily.
6. Avoid or limit caffeine, alcohol and other potentially neurotoxic compounds like aspartame and MSG.
Supplement Recommendations:
Inositol: 2 grams three times a day
5-HTP Synergy: 1-2 capsules twice a day
StressArrest: 2 capsules twice a day
Genuine Norwegian 1 teaspoon per day
OmegAvail Marine TG Liquid: 1 teaspoon three times a day
